SYLVIA WOODS WROTE:
>This wonderful 2-CD set is available from the Sylvia Woods Harp Center. It
>is $27.95. One CD contains 22 of the tunes that were played at the Belfast
>Harp Festival in 1792. The other CD has 20 O'Carolan tunes. Grainne plays
>on wire-strung, gut-strung, and nylon-strung harps. She sings in Gaelic on
>some of the pieces. Two very informative booklets are enclosed with
>extensive notes on the music, as well as information about the Harp Festival
>and O'Carolan.

I recently purchased from you Grainne Yeats' companion history to the festival:
"The Harp of Ireland: The Belfast Harpers Festival, 1792 and the Saving of
Ireland's Harp Music by Edward Bunting." I'd recommend it to anyone interested
in Celtic music history. It was a fascinating read, by a lady who really
knows what she's playing/researching/writing.

Best,
Kim
