Hello Fellow Harpmakers and Authors,
This man is asking for more than plans, he wants a definitive book. He
is one of many people who contact me regarding the same request. There are
few books out there, with very brief introductions to this harpmaking
subject. The reader must be almost a library researcher to obtain enough to
avoid some basis mistakes.
When are we going to either provide our public with a book (by any one
of us) or: is anyone interested in collaborating to provide a book re
harpbuilding? If so, please contact me.
I had been working on such a book (only devoted to the Tara harp, a
how-to idea), but was not going to put in whys and wherefores. Since there
is such a wonderful assortment of talents on this list, it crosses my mind
that a book with sections of different aspects (thus providing many methods
and ideas) might be something that is ready to be accepted by enough people
to justify the printing! We were a small pond some fifteen years ago. But
now, this harp playing/ building/ business/ has grown into a good size
lake! Soon we will overflow and have rivers.... The Folk Harp Journal is
already an example of such.
