Well, at your encouragement that "lurkers" put our
questions/topics/etc out there...

I am a re-beginner, having taken harp lessons (very briefly) in
college. I fell in love with it, but pedal harps aren't very
practical for starving students in less than palatial houses. Anyway,
since discovering the list archives, I've subscribed and contacted
several harpmakers about obtaining a good, solid instrument to start
with. I'm interested in opinions regarding what to look for, what
pitfalls to avoid in buying it, and (most especially) individual
experiences with specific instruments.

In addition, I'd like to hear from other harpers/ist/iste' in my neck
of the woods (NE Ohio--Cleveland area). Harp makers in Ohio and
surrounding states would be welcome as well. Just getting the chance
to hear/see a harp other than the Dusty Strings FH26 they carry at our
local shop would be terrific.

Anyway, my apologies for the bandwidth consumption. Thanks again.

Harp-kissed and dreaming,

Tamara
