Hi, Lynette! Just so happens I'm in process of selecting some Jewish
songs to be played at a memorial gathering honoring my mother, who died
in June. Songs I'm considering are: Hatikvah, Sholem Aleichem, My
Yiddishe Mama. I really don't know of anything specifically for a
funeral, but am thinking more in terms of songs she liked, or that
remind me of her, or that we used to sing at home. Grandma used to
sing me a song called "Oif'n Pripitchik." There's also The Anniversary
Waltz. All these songs are slow, and in minor keys (my own favorite
kind of music)--nothing to do a Hora to. There's also, as I think
about it, Eli, Eli. I've got a request to a cantor at a synagogue here
about score and lyrics for some of these. If you have score and lyrics
for any of the above, *I'd* be interested!
