On the subject of walking around with a harp --
I rigged up a guitar strap to go over my right shoulder and under
around my left ribs. The top end attached around the shoulder of hte harp,
and the bottom end -- well, you know those little knobs you put on the end
of a guitar soundbox? Well, I bought one and put it into the soundboard
just left of where the piller comes in. (It was low enough that the screw
went into the baseboard of the harp, not just the soft spruce.
I've done it with 2 harps. The first was more toy than instrument,
but it was okay for practice, and I carried it on a motorcycle and dind't
just freak at the thought of it being destroyed. The 2nd one is a
Dragonwhispers 22-string Topher. (Notice the difference between the "was"
and the "is" -- it's a statment about hte comparitive quality that I've kept
the DW harp.)
Here's what I found out: A round-backed harp is a REAL PAIN to
carry around -- it keep flopping to one side or the other. And the wider
the soundbox is at the bottom (within reason), the more stable it is.
On the subject of harp and tea-- I have a marked preference for Wild Cherry
Blackberry (Iced) for hot weather, and for tension tamer or sleepytime (hot)
in cold weather. I have not done any research to show whether the tea makes
a difference in my ability to play peppy vs. slow tunes.
Take care, all...
