Well, I don't have direct experience with orange peels, but it's probably worth
a try. Just be aware that such advice must be tested for yourself!

When our two cats joined our household as kittens, we were told that garlic,
similarly applied, would keep them away from anything. This provoked great
mirth, since these two would both climb up to the top of the refrigerator just
to get at their favorite playthings and chew toys - the cloves of garlic!
