My daughter does Highland dancing & I'm just experimenting with learning a
few tunes on the harp. One of which will be a Strathspey Reel (I don't know
if this is different from a "Strathspey" though).

I was wondering about the origins of the Strathspey name etc that has been
cause for some discussion recently. In my little hunt for details I found
that the Lord Grant of Grant was also known as the Lord of Strathspey...just
wondered whether the music was written initially for him or whether it just
referred to the strath of the river Spey?

Anyone got any ideas?

Charlie.
