HA
Sorry.
If your cats decide they want the harp, kiss it goodbye. I have lived
with large numbers of cats all my life (mom had a farm of sorts), and not
all cats hate citrus. The ones who do, any citrus fruit will do - it
appears to be some part of the acid, not the actuall orange smell, that
they hate. Try wine. I've found that that will work on more cats than
oranges - provided you don't mind a house that smells like a wino hit
it.... *giggle*
Sorry. Cats are very determined. If they truly decide that they want the
thing, they will prance happily over hot coals to get it. *sigh* Keep it
in a case when you're not using it, is my suggestion. And ABOVE ALL, if
you have to change/replace a string, LOCK THEM OUTTA THE ROOM. They'll
think you're playing with them - and once they get the idea that strings
are toys......
Of course, you could always teach them to play simple melodies. *grin*

*laugh* It's really not all that unusual. Basically, if you can't keep it
covered when not in use, experiment. Stick stuff (orange peels, a glass
of wine, a jar of varnish) near them - whatever they back away from and
bat at nervously is the one that'll keep them away from it (although I
really wouldn't suggest varnish or glue, as you know what those might
do....) There's bound to be _something_ that freaks them out (*sigh* one
of my cats is allergic to cat food, believe it or not - she hates it -
and it makes her sick when she tries to eat it).
Good luck. :)

A cat's philosophy exactly. :)
