I have come across a lovely Gaelic phrase on the death of someone
loved.

Mairidh e'm fonn nam teud.

He will live through the music of the harp.

Literally, he will live in the music of the string(s). The word
fonn has many meanings which have attractive associations beside music: Land,
locality, region, country, pleasure, longing, love, mental disposition,
tune, excitement, drone of the bagpipe. Drone of the bagpipe?
