You might want to run over Scotland the Brave a couple times (with a truck :)
just in case the folks you're playing for are expecting to hear it. As many
times as the song has been played, it's amazing the power it has over an
audience. There are people who can listen to that song 100 times and still
not get enough of it. If you're getting paid for a gig by a Scottish
organization, you don't want to *not* know one of the old standards.

You've heard something similar to it. It's very similar to the tune used in
the old Old Spice commercials.

If you haven't found a copy by now, let me know and I can try to email you a
copy in PostScript, GIF, JPEG, or some other format.

Hey, I just thought of something! The Ceolas archive has a collection of
pipe tunes that are in bagpipe.tex format. To convert these files into
printable form you must have access to TeX, and have MusicTeX and bagpipe.tex
installed on top of it.

I just discovered that there are some PostScript files of the tunes in the
bagpipe.tex archive on Ceolas. You can pick up a copy with Scotland the
Brave from:
http://celtic.stanford.edu:80/pub/tunes/tunes.bagpipe.tex/hScotMSet.ps

Many libraries have at least one "greatest bagpipe hits" recording. If you
can't find one locally, you welcome to call me and I'll sing the tune over
the phone to you. Or I could hold the phone up to a stereo speaker and let
you hear it being played.
