I agree with Mike's comments about Scotland the Brave and indeed any=20
other of the hackneyed Scottish tunes which are regularly trotted out as=20
representative of Highland music. I'd imagine that the members of a=20
Highland Society would appreciate a taste of the real thing.

As a suggestion, ransack your library for any books of Gaelic songs, or=20
use books of pipe music as sources. Pipe ornamentation is easily adapted=20
to the harp. Slow airs, marches, jigs, strathspeys and reels all sound=20
good and can be effectively played back to back eg a strathspey like Miss=
=20
Drummond of Perth followed by a reel such as Sleepy Maggie.

I keep my harp tuned in A flat to accommodate the dropped 7th so common=20
in Highland music. In this key I can play with Highland pipes or=20
Lowland smallpipes quite easily.
