I use MusicTime, an $80-$100 program whose only failure, as far as I can
see, is that slurs are harder than they ought to be, and certain harp
symbols are not available (like exaggerated arpeggio, brackets, dotted
lines/brackets for fingering, though I can drop the numbers in easy
enough, and I usually go in with pen afterwards if it REALLY matters.)
Without the playback feature, I think I'd go nuts straightening out my
arrangements.
I can also find one of these glorious MIDI sites on the 'net, download a
MIDI, and in a minute or so, have the sheet music! With Crescendo, I
can listen to decide if I want it first, though I then either have to
disconnect Crescendo or find the temp file if I want it downloaded.
It's been a great boon for medieval/renaissance music, of which I
haven't enough knowledge or recordings.
And the rest of you? Any good shareware? Professional stuff? ABCtex?
Defense of pencil and staff paper?
