Aeolian harps

I recall my mom once describing a huge (field-sized) aeolian harp to an
ornithologist friend. He got a pained expression on his face and informed
her that such works of art are hell on the bird population. Apparently birds
are good at injuring themselves on the hard-to-see wires. This isn't a
problem with smaller aeolians, is it?
