Were you at Sylvia's on Saturday? I was there, too. (I was in the
second row on the right side. Where were you seated?)
Ortiz is not just an excellent performer. I've attended a couple
workshops that he has given, and he is a lot of fun to listen to.
Aside from the anecdotes that he tells, the subjects were very useful
- relaxation techniques, injury prevention, South American harp
ornamentation. I think his view of harp technique and injury
prevention runs along the lines of an old joke:
"Doctor! Doctor! It hurts when I do this!"
"Then don't do that!"
I really liked your message on why you play. Will you be able to
attend the Solstice Festival?
