OK, I'll get in on this, too. I have had my harp for about 14 months. I
purchased it at Scarborough Faire in Waxahachi (SP?) TX. It is, apparently,
one of the Pakistani made harps, 22 string. I have had a couple of other
harpers (one a maker/player) look at it and play it, and they like the sound
almost as much as I do. I certainly enjoy it. I went through a 'welcome to
hell' period with it, as at the Faire I lost the tuning key. ARRGGHH! So
until I could find another, it was unplayable. This took about two months!
Thanks to Mountain Made Music in Nashville, IN.

I think I have 6 pieces I could comfortably play for an audience. Although
I could probably work up several fairly quickly if necessary. I did this
with an arrangement of 'All to Jesus/I Love You Lord/Allelujah' that I put
together in about a week. Yes, I do have previous musical experience. My
wife occasionally gets disgusted with me because it seems that anything I
pick up I can play. I currently play flute in our church orchestra. The
harp just isn't loud enough to get through. I had training in bass, trumpet,
baritone, piano, guitar and I sing in the choir. I picked up an learned
flute and harp on my own.

I am afraid I have a double instrument lust problem. While I only have one
harp, I just got plans for another from Tom Duncan (Indianapolis) and hope
to build one when we get settled in Boulder (moving in a couple of weeks).
My other instrument is the flute. I currently have 9 flutes: the silver
concert flute, a fife, a pan flute in D, a glass flute, an Indian flute, a
Shakuhachi and 3 bamboo transverse flutes.

Well, I think that's enough rambling for now.

My opinions are my own, unless I decide to change them.
Then someone else can have them.
