Dear Marjorie,

Here are several options:
1- Ask the harpmaker what finish he or she uses, go out and buy a can,
brush it on a scrap of wood and give it to your woodburner friend to
test. If it works well, you can have the finished harp delivered and
decorate it at your leisure.
2- Buy the harp unfinished, have it woodburned, then finish the harp
yourself or have a local woodworker do it for you.(Don't ship harps
any more than you have to.)
3- Ask the harpmaker if he or she can do the woodburning for you.

Good luck!

Hey all!
(that means you, reader who has the answer to this very question)
If i'm ordering a harp to be made (being in desprate need, and wanting
it asap), is it worth asking for the unfinished soundboard- having
someone (hi deb!) woodburn it- and returning it for completion- or
would it be wise to order the finished harp, in hopes that one day
I'll be able to have someone burn over the finish, or sand it off a
bit? is this possible? is it dangerous?
Hoping to hear from you soon!
