Sometimes my hands shake too. It seems like they shake when I have too much
time to build up adrenaline before playing, like if I have to wait a long time
until it is my turn to play. They don't shake nearly as much when I feel more
in control of a situation. They normally stop shaking after the first piece.
It used to freak me out when my hands would shake, which just made it worse!
Once I got it through my head that I can play fine even when they are shaking,
I decided to not worry about it anymore. When my hands shake I just look at
them and say, "hi hands! I see you are shaking. Well, go ahead and do your
thing, but I really can't pay attention to you right now because I am playing
the harp". Once they realize I'm not going to freak out because they are
shaking, they usually stop! < I know this sounds weird as if my hands aren't
a part of me, but it works to diffuse the power of the shaking>
I do worry that the audience can see my hands shaking. Most of the time they
don't, unless I am in very intimate surroundings.
