Rita;
You might like "Jewish Melodies" by Suniita Staneslow. These are very
melodic, easy to play, and they sound so good that a couple of local
professionals, including my teacher, have bought the book and use the songs
for gigs, including gentile weddings.
Another off-the-wall, but very nice collection is the "Music from Taize'"
Taize is an ecumenical monastery in France that hosts thousands of people
every week from many countries. They have developed a service of music to
get around the problems of language. It is simple, but very nice. Their
vocal edition is complete with chord symbols, and it fits into many
settings. We use their muusic frequently in an Episcopal church where my
wife and I sing. I don't knowof a local source, as I bought my books at
Taize', but they are published by Collins, a division of Harper Collins.
Well worth exploring.
