Brian Boru's March was the very first piece I learned on the harp too and the
arrangement was from a 1978 or 79 issue of FHJ. The arrangement ended at the "A"
section, and it was years before I realized there was a "B" section. (After someone
asked me why I wasn't playing the whole thing - duhhh what whole thing???) Since that
"arrangement" was pretty short I started playing with the chords under it, a drone here,
a one-two-three triad there, throwing it into different octaves, anything I could think
of to make it longer.
It sounds like the "favorite" version you are going to find is one you make up yourself.
Sylvia Woods has chord symbols you can use to base your version on. If you are
referring to the last section as being "too hard", remember it is a variation of the
first part - play the first part again instead of the "harder" variation. If the middle
is "too hard" use 1/5 drones under it -- for that matter you can use 1/5 drones under
the entire piece if it's too hard, use your chord symbols for reference.
Hope this helps.
